The resonator is decorated with maple /pearwood outer circle rings and checkered wood marquetry centre stripe, 5 piece Brazilian rosewood / maple neck, with checkerboard trim under the bound Brazilian rosewood fretboard. Headstock overlay features logo, model and floral inlays, Leader style inlay pattern up the fretboard, 19 frets which are in good condition with plenty of bite left, 24 brackets, round hole flange, raised arch-top tone ring, Paramount swivel lock tailpiece, hot dog armrest, original paramount figure 8 page tuners all working perfectly. New strings and hand made bridge, it has low action and a perfectly straight neck and has a powerful but sweet sustain from the arch-top tone ring and newly fitted Remo Renaissance head * (SN:3694)

Bacon & Day Special NO.2 Tenor Banjo

Written by Paul Conlon. Posted in For Sale

Bacon & Day Special Tenor banjo Style No 2 built in Groton, Connecticut around 1929. The B&D Special series was the next model down from the Silver Bell series. These banjos are very comfortable to play, and play they do! Beautiful deep rich tone with punchy bass on the G and D strings, A and E strings are also pure in tonal sound. The action is low and the neck is straight all of the way up the fret board. This banjo has been very well cared for and I would consider in excellent condition. If you own another vintage banjo and have never played a B&D you should definately check them out. They are robust and you can play them hard and they will hold their tune and tone. Enough said check out the video..

Comes with original vintage B&D case in great condition
