Ceol Sessiún

The Banjo/mandolin classes joined forces with the concertina & bodhrán classes for their first ceol practice Sessiún and with great success. I was very impressed to hear our students perform together for a couple of sets, especially as some students have only been playing their instruments little more than five weeks.

We will be preparing set lists from different tune types i.e. jigs, reels, marches & polkas. Each week we will select one tune to learn which should take around 45 minutes and then the banjos,concertinas and bodhráns will meet to play tunes.  Of course we don’t expect anyone to be able to play newly taught tunes with any fluency as this will come through time.
