1976 Framus Nashville 19 fret tenor banjo

Written by Paul Conlon. Posted in For Sale

A very popular tenor banjo from the 70’s & 80’s played in folk groups and sessions. A solid built, great sounding banjo manufactured in germany, check out the vintage archive website . I haven’t seen too many of the Nashville N-line model around today and this one looks like a museum piece. The neck is made from solid maple with rosewood fret board and fancy ornate mother of pearl inlay position markers. MOP decorated head stock and original geared german made tuners. The neck is joined at the rim by dual coordinator rods which can also adjust the string height action. The action is set low on the radiused fret board and the frets are in good condition. The rim is 1/2″ thick maple, maple resonator, 24 shoes and the hooks are attached through the tension hoop side wall similar to vintage Washburn banjos. I fitted a 5 star 11″ smooth top white head which is thicker than the Remo heads and therefore can be tightened more. This Nashville model has a arch top tone ring which delivers a bright tone, which will hold its own in a session. I’d say fitted with a fishman pickup it would make a great reliable gigging banjo.

Wood work in great condition, no dents or dings and metal work plating all good. Comes with fur lined hard case and original ‘framus nashville’ head, slightly worn.
