A little classic from the 20’s short scale 17 fret tenor banjo fully restored and set up ready to play. Original neck and pot with matching serial numbers, neck is perfectly straight with low action and made from rock maple attached to a multi-maple ply rim.  The little wonder features the nickel plated spun over tone ring unlike the simpler type rolled brass ring which are usually fitted to style N models. Recently fitted new 10 -3/4″ renaissance head,  new hooks & nuts, maple bridge and new strings. The tuners have also been upgraded to quality geared type and features a no knot tail piece. This wee banjo packs quite a punch for its size, perfect for beginner- intermediate level and comes with original case.

Gremlin Tenor Banjo

Written by Paul Conlon. Posted in Front Page Posts

19 fret tenor banjo made in the 1990’s for the Hobgoblin Music company in England. Solid little banjo in very well kept condition, nice full sound and clear tone, not too many of them around these days.  Probably one of the builds by Sammick around the 97-03 period and seems to have been designed to sell at about the same price point as the Gold Tone WL250 banjo. Solid, well-finished construction with brass hoop tone ring, heavy flange, engraved arm rest and adjustable kershner style tail piece. Geared tuners, rosewood fretboard with fancy inlays, straight neck. Set up with new strings, action is set low and plays well up the neck. Comes with good quality TGI padded gig bag.
