Sully Short Scale Tenor Banjo

Written by Paul Conlon. Posted in For Sale

A beautiful short scale 17 fret tenor banjo hand built by luthier Tony Sullivan around 1998 with serial number #258.  Fitted with a bell bronze flat head tone ring seated on a rolled 3/4″ solid maple rim, which gives this little gem its shear power and sustain.  All parts are of the finest quality as you’d expect from Sullivan banjos, 1/2″ notched brass tension hoop with 24 hooks and rounded nuts. Clamshell tailpiece which accepts loop and ball end strings, armrest, geared tuners fitted with solid ebony buttons. Rosewood fretboard with MOP dot inlay position makers, good frets and low action. The nut width is 30mm and the scale length from the inside nut to the bridge is 20 – 3/4″. Comes with hardshell case with grey fur lining.
