1970’s Ibanez “Artist” Tenor Banjo
The Ibanez “Artist” 19 fret tenor banjo built in Japan in the 1970’s, it is a superior quality built banjo of its time. No longer produced but much sought after and played by many players, Professional and otherwise. This particular example is in very good clean condition and excellent playing condition. The fretwork is perfect with low playing action and the lacquer finish on the neck or resonator is free from dents and scratches. Features on this fine instrument include a die-cast flat top tone ring, tube and flange assembly on a 15 ply 7/8” thick shell, Rock Maple neck with adjustable truss rod. The peg head is inlaid (not a transfer) with a genuine mother of pearl renaissance design as is the Ebony fret board. The hardware is heavy chrome plated throughout and the tuners are replacement original Kluson Gibson chrome plated planetary tuners. The tailpiece is a presto style and the bridge is a 5/8” Grover maple with ebony tip. Finished with cream binding on the side of the neck and side of the resonator. Supplied with new quality hardshell case.
