Beautiful 1920’s Weymann Style 140 18 fret tenor banjo. The neck is made from maple with ebony fretboard and pearl dot position inlays, with good fret and straight neck set at low action. The headstock is dark stained rosewood with floral inlay motifs and has schaller geared machine tuners. The maple rim is 3/4″ thick housing a simple brass hoop tonering, the newly installed 11″renaissance head gives warm but punchy sound and nice long sustain. The figured maple resonator is similar to the Weymann Orchestra models being spring loaded and can be pulled off easily to be played as an open back. Even as an open back banjo it has equally a loud sustaining tone. It also has the tension neck brace adjuster between the perch pole and neck heel. The overall lacquer condition is very good as is the metal work plating. Its a perfect compromise banjo between a short scale 17 fret and a standard 19 fret. Comes with a good vintage case.
