We had a packed classroom at the recent Paul Meehan Tenor Banjo Workshop.We are delighted to confirm a very special tenor banjo workshop with Paul Meehan. Paul performed, toured and recorded with Irish ‘supergroup’ Lúnasa for seven years, including collaborations with Natalie Merchant and many others. As a member of the Karan Casey Band for two years, he features on two of her internationally-acclaimed albums. Paul has recorded three albums with North Cregg, and played with them at many festivals and on many tours. The band were voted ‘best newcomers’ in Irish Music Magazine’s annual poll. Among his other recordings, Paul recorded the highly-acclaimed ‘Wild Music of the Gael’ with Na Dorsa. Paul has collaborated with Liz Carroll on her ‘Fiddle Fair’ album, and has toured with the legendary Chicago fiddle player many times. Among Meehan’s collaborators are Altan, At First Light, Michael McGoldrick, Tedjedor, Tommy Peoples, Paddy Keenan, At The Racket, John Carty and The Alan Kelly Band.
