Paramount Style D Tenor Banjo

Written by Paul Conlon. Posted in Front Page Posts

Vintage Paramount Style D 19 fret tenor banjo. A very rare collectable from the makers Rettburg & Lange and one of the first production models to leave the factory in 1921 bearing the serial number 221. The banjo has been restored to its former glory with a total professional re-fret and a lacquer respray at the Mcilroy Guitar factory in County Antrim. You can feel the quality of workmanship of this instrument when you lift it into your hands, and the sound is the most powerful I have heard from any Paramount banjo including the ‘Leader’.

About the banjo

The banjo is made from holly wood which you will only find on the higher level professional models and the metal parts are mostly silver plated. As seen from the photos the banjo has beautiful inlaid wood marquetry throughout including the elaborate wood carving to the heel.

The banjo is now Sold
