From time to time a Vega Vegaphone Deluxe would come up for sale from various dealers or music shops, this one comes from a collector from England and has been very well cared for over the years. This model dates to approx 1925 with confirmed Serial #782621 both on rim and persch pole. Banjo details

  • 19 frets with 23″ scale length
  • Three piece figured maple neck with centre ebony laminate and beautifully carved heel
  • Ebony fret board, cream ivoroid side binding up the sides and fancy MOP design on the ebony heel cap.
  • Beautifully engraved mother of pearl MOP position markers.
  • Straight neck with low playing action.
  • Headstock MOP design to front and rear.
  • Gold planet tuners with solid pearl buttons.

Rim & Resonator Assembly

  • Piecrust resonator with sunburnt finish, plastic engraved edging
  • figured Maple rim with tubaphone tone ring and abalone faced bottom rim and inner tortoise shell binding
  • Gold plated engraved flange plates, hooks and nuts and engraved tension hoop.
  • Vega Deluxe Oettinger 4 finger tailpiece
  • Fitted with Remo white frosted top head, maple and ebony bridge

The banjo is set up for trad playing and comes with the original vega case with green velvet lining and vega motif.
