Framus Texan Tenor Banjo
|
Here we have a ‘Texan Series’ tenor banjo by the famous German Framus company built around the 1970’s. Framus was a German luthier who produced many kinds of instruments between the 1950’s through to the 80’s. Framus was well known for his amazing innovations in guitar and banjo building and created many different models, like the Texan, Nashville, Solist and the Old Time Gold among others.
This is the popular Texan 19 fret tenor banjo which has been played throughout the Irish Trad scene since as far back as I can remember. It has been kept in excellent condition and plays and sounds as good as it looks. The action is low with good frets and arrow straight neck and the truss-rod is fully working. Framus’s innovative string height adjustment mechanism is present at the end of the perch-pole which easily lets you adjust string action using a Alan key. Rosewood neck with simple dot inlays, broad frets and standard guitar style side mounted tuners, all holding tuning well. All original ‘wedding cake’ flange and armrest and original tilt tail piece. Fitted with bronze phospher strings and ebony/maple bridge. Comes with black hard shell case with black fur lining.
